Sixties Artists


Born March 18, 1941, Prattville, Alabama, Wilson Pickett  American Soul singer, R&B singer, songwriter. He had minor success with "It's Too Late" and "I'm Down to My Last Heartbreak" which he recorded with Double L Records.

He moved to Atlanta records and had a hit with his third release  "In the Midnight Hour".

Other records of the sixties include "Don't Fight It",  "634-5789 (Soulsville, U.S.A.)", "Ninety Nine and a Half (Won't Do)", "Land of 1000 Dances",

"Mustang Sally",  "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love", “Funky Broadway" and "Hey Jude". He died from a heart attack in January 2006.
